Brendan started his career as an indentured apprentice mechanical engineer working for a medium sized mechanical handling company in Watford.
During his apprenticeship he gained valuable experience in mechanical fabrication and design.
In 1979 Bren joined a switchgear manufacturer where he applied his skills in the development of steel enclosures and busbar systems for switchboards.
With the development of computer technology in the mid-eighties his skills were instrumental in the introduction of CAD based systems in the workplace.
Bren headed up a team of development engineers thus applying his knowledge and experience to fully co-ordinate the shop floor areas and site installation teams.
Bren was also a key person in the design and development of type tested assemblies covering issues such as fault level and temperature rise.
Bren is also fully qualified in the use of thermal imaging technology used as a diagnostic aid in preventive maintenance programmes.
Brendan’s key skills are undoubtedly project management together with the practical ability to design and develop equipment to modify existing installations on a retrospective basis.
